Speke Hall
A day out at the weekend, late June 2002. This is just near Liverpool Airport, so you get planes overhead every so often, which gives a bit of contrast.
 | Front view (162Kb) Between the hedge and the house is a big ditch (now a garden). There is a bridge across to get to the house. |
 | Palm cones (180Kb) Strange variety of palm plant that produces seeds like fir cones. Only found in Speke, and even then only directly beneath fir trees. Possibly some strange symbiosis going on? |
